Fact is, the majority of construction and design happens within the built environment. In older cities, like Boston, it can be upwards of 80%. The operati0ns of building during its lifetime can be 10 times or more the construction cost. So how do we get the benefits of BIM with our current buildings and renovation / re-use projects? We survey. Typically this is done with paper, pencil and tape measure. Drawing once on paper, transcribing measurements on to the drawing and then translating the drawing and measurement into CAD. It is repetitive, time consuming, prone to error and we’ve all done it.

Our flagship product PKNail utilizes point-to-point laser technology (PPLT) for the real time data capture and creation of BIM models in the field. Measure–> Build–> Done.
The product was born out of the need to capture existing building information quickly and accurately, reduce the amount of steps in modeling and drastically reduce rework and translation time by measuring and building directly inside a BIM or CAD enabled workstation.
